DigitalOcean Unveils AI-Native Cloud Platform Aimed at the Inference Era

Source: DigitalOcean Investor Relations

DigitalOcean has moved well beyond virtual machines and managed databases. At its Deploy 2026 conference the company debuted what it calls the DigitalOcean AI-Native Cloud, a platform built end-to-end for inference and agentic workloads. The integrated stack spans five layers: infrastructure, core cloud, inference, data, and managed agents, and is already running production traffic for customers including Higgsfield AI and Hippocratic AI.

The platform ships with access to several frontier models. DeepSeek-V4-Pro is now live on the service, bringing multi-step reasoning and large-context handling to developers. Kimi K2.6 also joins the catalog, optimised for long-running autonomous tasks and multi-agent orchestration.

The financial story backs the product bet. DigitalOcean reported Q1 2026 revenue of $258 million, a 22% year-over-year increase, while AI Customer ARR grew 221% year-over-year to $170 million. The company raised its full-year 2026 revenue growth outlook to 26% and its 2027 outlook to over 50%. Shares responded with a 40% jump on the earnings day.

For smaller teams and scale-ups that want GPU inference and agentic tooling without the overhead of hyperscaler pricing, DigitalOcean’s repositioning is worth watching.
