Microsoft Raises Azure Prices in Europe by Up to 17 Percent From February 2027

Microsoft has announced price increases for specific Azure Virtual Machine series and Azure Storage services in seven regions, taking effect on 1 February 2027. The increases range from 8 to 17 percent, and the sharpest rises land squarely in Europe. North Europe (Dublin) faces the largest jump at 17 percent, France Central and France South go up by 11 percent, and both West Europe (Amsterdam) and the Norwegian regions increase by 9 percent. Singapore rounds out the list at 8 percent.

What is included and what is not

The increase applies to most modern VM series and several Azure Storage services, but Microsoft has published an exclusion list. Older generations such as the v1 D, F and G series, Av2, Dv2 and Fsv2, and the Dsv7, Esv7 and related v7 series are not affected. A range of storage services, including General Block Blob, Queues and Tables, are also excluded. That means the real impact depends heavily on which VM families and storage SKUs your workloads actually use.

Why European teams should act now

This change lands on the same date as Microsoft’s Azure Reservation exchange policy changes, which remove the ability to exchange reservations for services that also have a Savings Plan available. Combined, the two changes mean that many European organisations will see their Azure bills rise unless they review their architecture, purchasing strategy and reservation portfolio before the new year. If your workloads run in Dublin, France or Amsterdam, the case for modelling your 2027 spend early is strong.
